It's funny that he comes here wanting input on how to propose and instead gets lectured on "It's too early" or "Wait until you're older."

Sorry I can't help ya man. I'm only 21... I would say at a dinner at a nice restaurant would be alright if nothing else.

You gotta cook this one up on your own, grasshopper. I could give you an idea, but then it wouldn't be yours.

Please help cause I'm going out of town on Thursday morning for a week and I want to ask her before I leave...
Here are a few guidelines...

1. I'm a college kid so something too expensive is out... lets say $200 budget...
2. I'm not one that likes to do the big public thing like at a ball game or something. UGGGHH. Some public is ok.
3. Something somewhat romantic is always a bonus!
4. Where I live the daytime temp right now is around 60 degrees.

Anyone heard of any creative/cool ways to propose? stories / experiences?? Help!!

Recreate your first date! Or where you two met for the first time...also buy her stuff that means a lot to both of you or bring it w/ u e.g. tix stubs of movie tix or this amusement park. :)

Figure out a way so that you both look nice (not casual dress). Do something special that means something to you both. For example, if she's not into nature, then it wouldn't be a good idea to take her on a romantic boat ride and do it there.

How about this:

"Honey, the sex has been great, but I'm tired of it so its time to take the next step. Will you marry me?"

I have some ideas and I dont need "help" per say... people on here always have a lot of input (good or bad) so I thought I'd see what people had to say... maybe get some more ideas...

Good point. Like the one about a ring on your penis? :D

Question:

Does your parents like her and does her parents like you?

Do you think both families will approve of this?

Hrmmm I like those ideas Mazor Rackham (EXCELLENT book btw), BruinEd, and Azraele. I think the night itself I have some great ideas for, some of which you guys mentioned, but any other suggestions I'd love. Now, about the actual place to propose... where should I do it? Even if we are at a restaurant I dont want to drop a knee in the middle of things or something like that... where do most people "drop the knee"?

Bring her to a nice Chinese restuarant and slip your marriage proposal into a fortune cookie. After she read it down on your knee with a ring!

Im only a 19 year old guy, and don't really have any experience with what your talking about... but in my opinion the most romantic things come totally from the heart/relationship.

Its different for each person/girl/couple. Think of something that is unique or special for you guys, and do it. Try to stay away from things that have been done. The whole ballgall proposal isn't really unique. Make it special, after all thats what its all about.

Of course Im sure you already thought this, so Im wasting my time. Good luck with it though, hope you guys are happy together!

I suggest you get married when you have a stable job and don't ask parents for any money.

That is quite creative! I like it as a way to set up the proposal. Actually that could work quite well... we always read each others fortunes so I could just pocket mine and then relocate. I just dont like the idea of doing it at the restaurant. I think its quite a personal thing and being too public is lame IMO. When we get to another location I could hand her my fortune cookie and ask her what my fortune is.. then I could have something written on it to her and then drop a knee! hrmmm a little mushy but hey... its about her that night I guess. Now the hard part I'm having is WHERE to propose?

how old are you by the way ? Getting married early will only make it that much harder.

Why are you so negative? He's in love and wants to get married. Your acting like he's 16 and knew the girl for 2 weeks. Every couple is different. Yeah some marriages end in divorce, but not all do. Why give him negative thoughts?

Why not sit down with her at park (or somewhere thats very comfortable, relaxing, and quiet), when talking, bring your relationship up. Show her the ring, and work your magic I guess.

Something I would do, its cheap, and kinda romantic, depending on the park. I remember I was at this beautiful pier when I kissed this one girl for the first time, it was great.

anyway, I stuck the ring inside a chocolate egg (Kinder egg for those who know what they are), it worked excellently. Keep it away from public settings (unless that's who your hunny is), I proposed on the steps of an old cathedral that had burnt down like 100 years ago. We were standing on the steps, admiring the stars, and we each had a chocolate egg to munch on, her's happened to have a ring in it. No one was around. That would have detracted from the fun of it all.

i agree with the 'have a stable job and don't have to ask mom/dad for money.' it's not negativity per se, just reality. my best friend's brother got married and still lives with mom/dad with the wifey. the difference is that he's got a stable job and is making house payments.

anyway, if everything's a go, do it. i've always wondered if anybody has proposed during intercourse. obviously the mood must be right and you've got her where you want her. during mid-thrust, just pop it out!

If you can do this successully and she still marrys you, you've found the right girl. :)
Either that or you've got a really small penis.

Or she has sausage fingers.

I think the original joke was small penis. If you can fit the ring on and she still marries you even though you are a needle dick, then she is a good woman.

That sound really cool. That is actually my style right there... something more just her and I. So did the egg or the cathedral have any special meaning or was it just for that night? Either way sounds like an awesome idea. Was her ring all covered in chocolate?
