Put the ring around your penis.

If you can do this successully and she still marrys you, you've found the right girl. :)
Either that or you've got a really small penis.

Or she has sausage fingers.

I think the original joke was small penis. If you can fit the ring on and she still marries you even though you are a needle dick, then she is a good woman.

It didn't rule out the sausage fingers, however, and I found that infinately more entertaining.

Yes to both. We've been dating for 3.5 years and both families are expecting it.

someone didn't read the rest of the posts. :)

anyway, I stuck the ring inside a chocolate egg (Kinder egg for those who know what they are), it worked excellently. Keep it away from public settings (unless that's who your hunny is), I proposed on the steps of an old cathedral that had burnt down like 100 years ago. We were standing on the steps, admiring the stars, and we each had a chocolate egg to munch on, her's happened to have a ring in it. No one was around. That would have detracted from the fun of it all.

That sound really cool. That is actually my style right there... something more just her and I. So did the egg or the cathedral have any special meaning or was it just for that night? Either way sounds like an awesome idea. Was her ring all covered in chocolate?

Have you ever seen a kinder egg? It's a chocolate egg that has a plastic egg inside that has a little toy in it. see one being opened here

Andrina (my wife) and I would often buy them for each other when we'd drive out to my parents or her parents, to kill the time, or just for fun, so it wasn't unusual at all to have them. The reason we were on the steps of the cathedral was b/c I told her we should go talk somewhere, and look at the stars "like we used to" it was the only fairly private place in the city that was outside, so we went there. Previously, i had carefully taken the toy out of her egg, put the ring in the plastic egg, put the plastic egg back inside the chocolate one, and glued that back together w/ melted chocolate, then re-wrapped it using the foil wrapper. :) She was none-the wiser.
She opened up the egg, and dumped the "toy" into her palm. I got down on a knee, and took the ring out of her palm and proposed. :D It was great! Then, we sat on the stairs and talked for a while. great fun.

I have a small stash of Kinder eggs my fiancee brought back from Thailand. I could be convinced to part with one.....if the price is right

i could just mail you a couple from here if you really want some. They don't seem to sell them in the US for some reason. But, being a canadian we have them everywhere. it's like french people and wine.

That about sums up my thoughts. Once you get that full time job, you can save up for a nicer ring also. $200 isn't going to get you much if anything at all.

Yeah I already dropped too much on the ring. Its paid for but only after saving pennies forever... As for waiting till I'm done with school - well, that isnt much of an option. I'm headed to dental school which means 4 more years of school. I want to be married before I'm 30. I would really like to be able to PLAY football with my kids instead of watch them play from my wheel chair. :).

Hence the price. My fiancee committed a federal crime to bring them back to me.

FWIW, Kinder Eggs are cannot legally be sold on the mass market in the US. In a nutshell, the FDA + US Customs have decided that Candy + Small Toy Inside = Many Darwin Awards.
