I am building an electric R/C golf tow cart. Its one of those things that you set your bag on, not what you ride on.
I have the chassis and the wheels already. The wheels have sprocket on them, and this will be a chain and sprocket setup.

I really just need the R/C and motor controller gear now.

The motor controller is dependent on what motor I am getting. I am getting the one on the top of this page:

I found all the speed controllers here:

I really only need to find the most basic speed controller that would work for the motor. Obviously, price is my biggest concern. When I am looking for a speed controller, what specs should I be concerned about? I am going to have two motors, with two speed controllers.

As far as the R/C gear, I need something that will be able to operate the two independent motors. How would this be done with a single controller? What gear do I need?

Thanks!

That will do it for you though it may be overkill. It will control both motors and can be contolled using a standanrd 2 channel RC transmitter/reciever. It will even mix the throttle and steering signals and output tank drive signals (left throttle+right throttle).

you can also do it using 2 independant contollers with this to mix the signals to tank drive

IMX-1 Invertable RC Tank Mixer

The key difference between the options is the current. Basically more current=more torque so the first step is figuring out how much torque you need. If you only need half the torque range of the motor then you can use a controller with half continuous current (saving $$$).

Maybe with a few more details on what you are trying to do + your budget I can recommend something more appropriate
