Hey people,
I just bought a new comp with an Asus A7N8X and I'll be using the onboard sound which is great. The only problem is that I want to use my headphones sometimes instead of my speakers... but the only way to do so is to change the connectors in the back of the case. I want to find a solution that would make it easier for me to swap the speakers with the headphones. I don't want this solution to be too expensive (under 40$ CANADIAN).
THX for your help ...
Justin

you can get a splitter from radio shack. just tell the guys at radio shack your problem, and they will hook you up

what the splitter does is you plug it into your speaker jack on your sound card, and the splitter contains 2 places to plug in either headphones, or speakers, so you wont have to switch it at all. it will cost about $5 american

i do not believe there is a loss of sound quality when you do that

why not plug the headphones into the headphone jack in your speakers? Are you listening to music from cd's cause then you could even plug into the jack on your cd drive.

I don't know about Justorq, but I don't have a headphone jack in my speakers. Not everyone has speakers that do have a jack. I plug my headphones into my SB LiveDrive.

that's right ... I don't have a headphone jack in my speakers.
As for the spliter, is it really possible to plug both the headphones and speakers at the same time without any loss in quality ?
I just want more people to confirm this before I purchase the spliter.

Thx for your help people ...
Keep the advices coming ....

Why not just buy a pair of decent 2.1 speakers with a headphone jack? You can pick up some Logitech Z-340's for under 50 bucks, and they are good quality speakers with a jack for headphones sitting right on your desktop.

No there will not be any loss in quality. If you think you notice one then return it....it's not like rocket science 😛
