I need help locating a part --- please

I have a 19" Gateway EV900 (rebadged MAG) monitor and I need to replace the base. I called Gateway and they said that they didn't sell the part seperately. The guy also told me that just about any monitor base should work? Is this true? I wouldn't think so.

Anyway, where can I find a part like this?

Try a bean-bag cushion if nothing else!
Heh, or secure it to a repositionable monitor "arm" that you can attach to your desk.
My laptop is on a swinging arm on my "station" with a KVM switch for when I need it.

I have that same monitor. I bought it at a computer show, and they had tons of em. Maybe try one of those companies, but I wouldn't rule out trying a base from another monitor myself.

I've seen them mostly in assembly line catalogs, but Anthro (The EXPENSIVE computer desk guys) sells them too. Dunno where else to look for a "monitor arm" but I'm sure you could find them cheaper than that!
