I need help hanging a dry erase board (w/pic)

The fates are against me, it seems.

First of all, they gave me two different nails. One is fine, the other's head is too small. Some plyers and a hammer fixed that.

Now that everything seems to be ok, I have another problem....
This. That's about 3/4".

What can I do to get rid of that gap? I guess the thing is warped. Should I take it back? Is there any way to Jerry rig it?

Use the sticky pads instead of nails. 3M makes them (about a 1/2" wide and 2" long) and they are very easily removed with no damage to the surface they were affixed to.

take it back and exchange it! those things are a pain to put up even when they're not bent out of shape

Heh, this is my first experience dealing with dry-wall. The last time I tried to hang something in my room, we lived in an all wood house. It was much better.

Well, the problem there is that the only part of the board that would come in contact with the wall is a thin metal surface.

It would have to be strong.

I think some adhesives stick pretty well to metal.

are you kidding ?! If I can do it, so can you. It took me like 10 minutes. Use short nails with big heads.

Double sided foam tape is da bomb! I use it for everything! Mind you once it's on, it's pretty much on for good! 🙂
