I need help flashing adaptec 29160 bios

I downloaded the new bios, and I have expanded the files to a floppy, but the instructions say that no devices can be hooked to the card when flashing, so I detached the hard drive, and listed my floppy as my first boot device, all that happens is my computer tells me to remove the non system disk and press any key. does anyone have this card and know how to flash the bios? Thanks in advance

You need to boot with a bootable floppy disk.
