Yeah, seriously, if you're not careful, very careful, about how you add this weight to your body, you can end up doing a lot of harm to yourself. You can be in tremendously good shape and still damage your frame (and the connective tissues) with poorly distributed weight when you're just moving around. I'd talk with an expert -- if there is such a thing in this arena. At the very least, check out the idea with a sports doc. A lot of people have done themselves in while trying to "improve" themselves.

<< Just out of curiousity, why the hell would you want to be walking around with an extra 150 lbs unless you were trying to get put into another weight class for wrestling or nascar driving? >>

(maybe you don't absolutely need it to be 150 lbs?)

Eat a 10 piece feed from KFC for every meal while playing computer constantly will get you right up there pretty quick..

ever thought of a bullet proof vest??? i hear they're pretty heavy... i've no idea how heavy exactly.... but you said it needed to be concealed..... thats exactly what they are.... concealed mass.... that will occasionally stop a bullet ;)

this weight will be evenly distributed across my body as to simulate 2 times gravity. well except for my head cause thatw ould be weird. i plan on using an old scuba suit and chopping it up using the suit for bands where weight will be needed

Don't create your own lead weights. The people that have warned you about lead poisoning are being very serious. Hopefully so are you, because the effects of lead on your body are nasty. Think Alzheimer's disease, only worse!

So this is for working out purposes? Gravity simulation for muscle training or what?

If you weigh twice as much then figure the atmosphere is much thicker, too. Wade through water with the weight to get a good idea of why less is better. J/K! ;)

<< Osmium is the densest element. I think it's like 22g/cm^3 or so. >>

I was about to say that, but you already did. Iridium has the same density, here, looking at my periodic table.

The easiest way to put lead in a suit is with lead wool, which was once used by plumbers. But there'll probably be a major problem with the wool shedding poisonous lead dust. so steel wool may be a better.

Wait until these synthesize Element 118. This should be the next "stable" heavy element if the general predictions of physicists are correct.

They already have, it had a HL of about 1.8 minutes IIRC

Also, Metallic Hydrogen is the densest element in existance.

All little tidbits from Scientific American

You're right, they did synthesize Element 118 (Ununoctium) for a short period of time. However, they did it the old fashioned way, by slamming several lighter radioactive elements into each other. This means they didn't synthesize enough to do anything but verify its existence in space and time. There have been no chemical analysis and whatnot done on the elements past Element 108 (Hassium).

I would put some serious thought into sand instead of lead.

If you're determined to use lead though - don't mess with it yourself, also might want to check out a scuba store - they have "soft" lead weights (bags full of pellets) that are sealed etc that are made to go on belts, arms/legs etc

I'm guessing that you got this idea after watching DBZ. I also have the same idea and up to now thought I was the only one. I will try to use plain iron (or steel, dunno exaktly) plates. I have some lying around the house: .5 in x 5 in x 8 in = 35 lbs. That's pretty heavy. I got some design ideas too.

I was gonna post exactly what Flot said.
Get some scuba lead baggies. They are heavy, small, and they can fit to the shape of your clothes.
You can work something out with those, they are perfect for what you want to do.
