my parents think I should get a job, soon. Like now. They want me to work at the racetrack, which would hold me off till summer, but I hate it there. And then I have one more problem: I wont be 16 until the 9th of October, 2002. As of yet, I havent found anyplace but the racetrack that will hire me..... anyone have any ideas where to look? Something like Best Buy would be cool. But one has to be 16 to work there. You know what I mean. Thanks

Two words:

One: Tech
Two: Support

When I was 17 I was making over $11 an hour, now at 19 I'm making over $14. With OT I'll have made $32K this year, next year I should make $35K. Granted that's full time, but you should be able to make at least $9-10 an hour part time.

Although, wages are a lot lower in PA than they are in Oregon, so your mileage may vary.

No matter how you cut it it's a good place to start out.

<< good luck finding a job. most places wont hire 15 year olds because of the labor laws >>

Ditto. My sister is 15 and she can't find a job anywhere. And i live in a little hick town where 12 year old boys go to work with their fathers.
Good Luck

eh...bestbuy...I worked there for a complete year as a cashier. The only reason I stayed was because I liked the discount. I hear you can make alot more at circuit city with the commission and all.

If you know your sh!t, yes.

There have been several 16 year olds where I work & even a couple 15 year olds. Knowledge is what matters, not age.
