I need help creating back-up cd's

I am trying to backup a game using adaptec easy cd creator and direct cd. I have done this several times before(since my twin boys decided it would be fun to play with all the cd's and broke several, I thought it was better to be safe than sorry). I have tried it with this one game 3 times and when I am done with the easy creator it says that the copy couldn't be finished and with the direct cd there are some files it wont let me copy. I might think something is wrong with the cd but it still runs in the cd-rom drive. Is there something I can do to make the files copy? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
