for casual stuff, dont get pleated. go for plain fronts. dockers non-iron is good. for styling i like express producer pants - just slightly low rise, not too baggy and not too slim - its a very good fit for slim-normal weight people

are plain & flat front the same thing?

Gap & Banana Republic

Yes you will pay more for these brands than say a discount store but trust me they're worth it. I normally go with gap pants so I would start there and yes Flat front as suggested above.

They have a very good fit and a nice, comfortable feel to them as well. You can usually find deals online and I believe there may be a % back from one of those "other" deal sites.

I have to agree with this. Just visit their websites and go directly to the sales section. You can often get their pants/chinos from anywhere between 20-40$. The BR ones are pretty nice the first few times you wear them, but wear out quick (about a year).

I've bought many throughout the years, and as they get older I end up using the old ones for dirty work and they hold up well. Good thing is that you can return to your local store if the fit isn't right.

yes

generally speaking flat front = modern (younger) pleated = classic (aka older). Pleats are pretty comfortable though, but I wouldn't wear them with anything other than a suit personally.

I agree these pants are always my favorite and have the best fit for me. But normal price is ~$80+ and I always find the same pants (maybe older) on the clearance rack for $12 or $15.

How to shop for clothes:
1. Grab wife/hot friend/gf
2. Tell them you want to buy clothes that fit
3. Have her bring you clothes and tell you what looks best on you
4. Pick out the clothes that you like the best.
5. ...
6. Profit!
