I'm having an odd issue on this system:

Sempron 2800 (1.6, 256k)
1gb ddr400
MSI K8N Neo Platinum Edition (Socket 754, nforce 3 250gb)
XFX Geforce 6800 128mb AGP
Okia 600 watt PSU
80gb Seagate SATA drive
XP Pro

Anyways, when I overclock to about 270mhz on the HT generator, I get artifacts such as distorted text (not lined up properly) and random lines. Beyond that, the video won't initialize at all.

I've followed proper procedure with the overclock, lowering the HT multiplier and memory speeds. I've tried adjusting CPU, memory, and AGP voltage, but it has no effect. I've tried upping the AGP speed to 67 or 68mhz to get the locks to work right. I've tried several different BIOS' for my board (1.5, 1.7, 1.8). I've tried underclocking the memory and HT speeds. Nothing seems to work

I believe what might be happening, is that the AGP/PCI lock is not working properly. I'm wondering if anyone has ever had this issue when overclocking, maybe with the same setup. I'm really at a loss with this.

Here's some pictures from the BIOS menu demonstrating the artifacts I'm talking about. Notice the mis-aligned text and random lines.

have you tried increasing the voltage to the RAM and the CPU? It may be a memory issue and both the CPU and the memory voltages could fix it...

Try to use clockgen and OC to a moderate level of FSB, and see if BIOS OC would keep pace at the same rate; and then bump it up a little by little, and see if BIOS can go as high as clockgen

That certainly sounds like an AGP lock problem, though I thought that board had a working lock? Maybe it's a PSU-related issue? How good are Okia PSUs?

Yes, I believe its a lock issue as well, since I've tried 3 different PSU's all to no avail. The board does indeed have locks though, and I've tried 3 different BIOS'.

High Ball; I'm not exactly sure what you're getting at?

Thanks for the help guys

Heres the amps on the okia...

+3.3v = 32A
+5.0v = 50A
+12.0v = 24A
-12 = 1.0A
-5 = 0.5A
+5SB = 2.0A

That seems like it would be enough?

It seems the Neo, at least mine has problems regulating the Vdimm voltage properly. I was checking voltages today on the board with my multimeter, and for yucks tried Auto on the ram voltage/ BIG mistake there, I am running TCCD here, and as bios initialized it showed 3.1v and change at just about the same split second my video went nuts with nothing but blocks on the screen!
Good thing I was on the ball and did a hard shutdown, or I may have lost the ram :(
All is running perfect here again, but my point is, these, or better put My board has issues with Ram adjustments, which to me is obvious that it affects video.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that the Only ram voltage setting on mine that is semi accurate is 2.7V, the rest of the settings from 2.65v to 2.85v are way off.

Good amps Bingy, unless that particular PSU has problems, I'm guessing it's not the problem.
