I need Cheap, quality pants (clothing in general)

Does anyone have any informed opinion on why a particular brand is better than it's competitors when it comes to quality? For example, maybe Brand A is expensive but wouldn't you know it -- it's made in the same factory as Walmart clothing. Something like that.

Obviously within reason (less than $100 for pants, for example)

Costco sells some good ones for alright prices. usually about $20 for Dockers, Haggar, and the Kirkland brand that hold up well. I'd avoid the Tommy Hilfiger ones as I've blown out the crotch in both of the ones I've had, and the Calvin Klein ones had really odd feeling pockets.

5.11 pants from lapolicegear.com are what i get for work pants. they hold up awesome and are pretty cheap when on clearance, they have 10 or 20 percent off codes all the time.

Everything is technically "branded", Walmart clothes is the Walmart brand? With that said, if 2 pairs of pants are identical in fit & style, no reason to buy the more expensive one for a premium unless the quality is signficantly noticable. Problem is that I've never seen anything that's remotely close to the fit, style and quality of my $200 Diesel jeans. :awe:

Incotex, Mabitex and Hiltl. Perhaps throw Riviera in there. Can be super expensive at retail, but can easily get them from places like Sierra Trading Post or eBay for under $100.

Incotex is probably one of the best in the world. All they make are man pants and are used by lots of high end suit makers.

The only issues you may find with inexpensive pants, are the button on the tab may be poorly anchored and need resewing to stay put. Sometimes, pockets are thin and things like keys or wallet will end up making holes after awhile. And depending on fabric content, you may some stretching around the waist after a bit. I buy from Land's End .. moderately good, decent prices, excellent fit and they will alter the inseam length Free

Thrift shop. You have to go all the time, and pick up things before you actually need them, but there is no cheaper way of getting quality clothes.

How long do the Land's End pants hold up? And what type of pants are you talking about (jeans, khaki's)?

I'm looking for a pair of jeans and khaki's that will last a long time for under $50. Although the Dockers and Haggar I've had are lasting well into 5 years now.

I get a lot of stuff at Marshall's. It's hit or miss, sometimes it's the weird colors they couldn't get rid of at full price at the upscale stores. But the prices are pretty good for what they have.

For work jeans, I buy Costco's Kirkland jeans. About $13/pair and they hold up well.

I buy Dockers and Haggar slacks (khaki's) at Costco as well. Around $20/pair. Good enough for me.

Thanks for the info. I wonder if BJ's carries the same brands.

For everyday work pants I usually buy the basic things from K mart. They're only like $15 a pair, and you can't tell they're cheap pants.

They also fit very comfortably. They're so cheap I usually don't wash them that often, I just take a few of them to goodwill evey few months.

So I don't know how they hold up over the long haul.

You can get at least 2 years out of them with no problems.
They have jeans, cargo pants and chinos in many styles.
You are sure to find one that suits your style.
