For all those gamers that got good at battlefield 2, how did you get it. Are there tips anyone can give me to get better at this game? I'm pretty good at other fps, sometimes I just die time after time, is this typical. How did the players that got good at this game, get good? Thanks.

I use tanks, my 94 point record was in a chopper, just as a ground unit, I get owned by everything. I also can't understand how to drop a bomb using a jet, I miss all the time. When I throw a grenade, I never hit anyone, only my teammates. Is there a stratigy people have for this?

i played it way too much. i started in bf1942 when it was a demo, then moved to bfv and now bf2. if you can't throw grenades or bomb jump on an empty server and practice. practice. practice.

Join squads, that's how I got good. Teamwork and cooperation! If you know someone's lookin' out for your "azz", then you'll play better. Maybe we can play sometime on the weekends. My Xfire is kromis.

Or even better, we can try to have a AT vs game again, but this time BF2 style! Or not...

That sounds like it might work, having a squad that actually works together. Is it good to have members of each kit in your squads, such as medics, engineers, snipers, and so on?

If you can keep at least one other team mate in your sights. The more the better. React to what they react to. This works in every single FPS I have played

The most important thing for me is just how sensitive the game's hit detection is to lag. If you find that you're shooting right at people and you never seem to kill them while they just turn around and pop you once and you dead, it's most likely you don't have a good connection to that server- find another. For example last night I was joining a couple of servers and each one I was getting seriously owned... it seemed like I was shooting blanks. Then the last server I joined suddenly it was like I activated a cheat- my shots were actually hitting! I was killing people left n right.

And the pings on the server browser help me in no way. Best is to just keep trying servers and mark good ones as a favorite

i play this game alot!!! 95% wake island.... i found out since playing this game via solo, its much harder to succeed. Definetly try commander and make sure to squad up and communicate with your teammates. See you in the battlefield!

Echoing what the others have said, squad up. Either play with friends and form your own squad and use some form of VOIP (my friends and I play and we use our own Ventrilo since we all have it on voice-activated and talk the whole time. Not just about the game so we use our own but all have the in-game VOIP enabled for communicating to other squad members) to coordinate assaults and defenses and who's going to respawn as anti-tank to take out the APC that has the squad pinned down, etc. If you can't start up your own squad and have it be sizeable, join a squad with a couple of guys in it and stick with the squad leader. Follow his orders and request orders if he's not giving them. If I'm in a squad and the SL isn't giving orders or the other members aren't following them, I don't stay in that squad long.

That's the main thing: teamwork. The squad system exists for a reason and if utilized, it can be really effective. The whole safety in numbers thing, as well. It's way more fun to get in a great squad and go on a rampage than it is to lone wolf it the whole time.

My primary squadmate is going to be MIA a lot starting today but I'm still down for playing. If you ever want to play, just shoot me a PM here.

play in squads. You have no idea how much teamwork is required. If your going to solo it, be a sniper or commander. There are no rambo's in this game.

So, it's nothing like halo 2. I can't stand halo 2, I don't understand how people can play that game so much.

Halo 2 is basically, whoever can aim better and faster wins, games like bf2 require more skill and teamwork imo. I used to be a level 18 in halo 2, then I stopped playing and got really bored of it.

Teamwork rules! That's what I love most about BF2. As long as other players are passionate about squadplay, I play pretty well!

When a team loses horribly, is that a sign that they didn't work together then?

Yeah, I'd say so. If everybody joined squads and the commander uses his microphone a lot, then you are guaranteed to win! Lol, I'm just exaggerating but if you have a good commander, you're chances of winning will increase!

Yeah, I saw the records of the greatest players in the world, they win 4 out of every 5 games that they're commander of, unbelieveable. btw I scored 225 points in one round last night, new record for me.

Play it alot and having COMPLETE MAP FAMILIARITY...is the key...sometimes I feel like I'm using the force Star wars style because you can just tell where the sniper shooting you is or which AA is targeting you
