I need an RPG to pass the time...Dungeon Siege or Morrowind?

Which would you suggest? I am leaning toward MW because it looks similar to Asheron's Call that I used to play before I lost DSL. :(

I enjoyed the DS demo when it first came out. However, I find that I quickly grew tired of Diablo 2 because of the click\kill\click\kill repeativeness. I assume that DS will be the same way.

As always, suggestions for other games are always welcome...

It will take you approximately 932473897 hours to complete everything in Morrowind... so get that if you need to burn some time.

It's a cool game too.

You can pick up Planescape Torment for a song now...around $10 at Best Buy on the cheapie rack. It is an excellent RPG.

Baldur's Gate 2 and Neverwinter Nights also are excellent RPG's. Basically, you can't really go wrong with a Bioware game :)

I thought Morrowind was terrible. So much walking around... ughhh. I gave up on it after about a week.

I'm with vi_edit, BioWare rocks. For my money, Baldur's Gate II is the best PC RPG ever made.

Dungeon Siege is extremely repetitive (and you can almost just sit back and watch the game play itself heh). If you're looking for something to just kill time with, DS would be your game. Morrowind entails more thinking and legwork and is much more in-depth. If you can take the time to get into it, I'd highly recommend it over Dungeon Siege.

DungeonSIege i wouldnt consider a RPG...no way. it looks nice in the beginning....but after a short time you realize it's flat gameplay, there is really nothing too it and there is no real 'RPG flair' coming up.

Morrowind: Nice at first, graphics, etc....but somehow lacks. I miss more interaction with characters etc...and after a while it gets redundant because it gets like "Got to Person A, get Potion from Person B, return to A, get rewarded"...which is really annoying.

But..still...MW is not bad, definetly better than DS which is more a Hack&Slash.

I think i didn't play Baldur's Gate II (OMG, can that be ??????) but i had the mega blast years ago with BG I multiplayer....great game.

Really good RPGs are kind of rare...and if i had the time (which i totally dont right now :) i probably would pick up NeverWinter nights and give it a try.

Well, to be honest with you, I have never been a huge RPG junkie. I didn't like the BG series because of the turn-based D&D gameplay.

Taking that out, it seems all that is left is the click-fest genre of RPG games that Diablo and DS fall under. Correct me if I am wrong on this...

That's basically why I think I might enjoy Morrowind. The fact that it is so open-ended appeals to me, but who knows if I will like it or not...

Give NWN a shot. 3D engine, more action intensive, and much faster paced than the BG series of games. The turn style system is there, but it isn't as intrusive.

Morrowind is the suck. Really bad game.

Neverwinter Nights is pretty good.

Grab some like-minded friends and go play Magic the Gathering. It'll save your body from the ergonomic problems of computers.

I love morrowind, I think it's a great game. It's ridiculously long though. But it's fun for almost all of that. Of course I got to a point in it where there really isn't any challenge for me from anyone in the game.

I just got morrowind with my R9800 AIW, and I'm totally lost. I wanna join up with the assassins, found out where the head dude lives, but that region is friggin huge. I can't find his hideout. Ah well.

Morrowind was alright to me, but I think you spend too much time walking around. I eventually got bored of doing that and just stopped playing.

Baldur's Gate 2 is great... If you havn't played it, play it. If you've played it, great. :)

Also as an Interplay Triple Pack for $20 with Fallout 2 and B Gate 1 ... but Fallout is true turn-based, and PS:T is real-time/turn-based D&D like B Gate.

Fallout 1-2, PS:T have excellent stories, so if you can overcome your disklike of turn-based combat they're well worth playing.
