Same here. Is Xbox live here yet or is steam a online gaming network ?

Steam is for buying and downloading games
xbox live is for Xbox, not PC.

Steam's client is free... but the games you buy through it are not. Steam does not include any games, you buy it through steam's store and it runs through steam.

Have you tried Red Orchestra? If not, wait until one of their free weekends and jump in and play on it. Some people love it, some people hate it, but the lack of bunny hopping and its general slow pace keeps the kiddies out, usually (although they might have changed it, have not played it in a while).

How's America's Army? I played it a couple of years ago (I think the first release?) and have no idea how the latest version compares to current-gen games.
Yeah support guns are pretty inaccurate, especially the PKM. Trick is to just tap the trigger button so it shoots one or two rounds. If you just keep doing that you can take out guys very quickly with the PKM. The unlock after that has a setting for three-round bursts too which I use quite a bit.Originally posted by: pontifex

I haven't played in a few years but when i did try it, i didn't care for it.
UT2004 - I liked the original UT but everything else after that seemed to go downhill. I prefer more realistic type games though, like with modern weapons.
I wish I could like BF2. I currently have it installed and play it occasionally, but it just rubs me the wrong way. I can't stand how inaccurate the guns are. I like the support class, but when you can't hit the broadside of a barn with the guns, its ridiculous.
Even at point blank range and prone they are useless.

I have a pretty good accuracy rating in BF2 mainly because I put all weapons on single shot and take my time aiming and firing. I still think that Medic G36 with single shot setting is the best weapon in the game... close range, medium, fsck you can snipe with it.
