I want a 2-4 GB MP3 player about the size of the Nano, that is "Plays for Sure" compatible. What are the best choices in this area?

Negative, haven't bought any music. I purchased a subscription, no more buying music for me.

Lol, whatever. It's perfect for me. One of the best ideas the labels have agreed to yet.

Looks like the Sandisk Sansa 4GB is the best choice. Buy.com has it for $179 shipped free.

Anyone have any experiences with it?

that depends on if you like to listen to new stuff all the time or not. I, do not. But glad it works for some people. I'm waiting for bittorrented distributed lossless DRM-less files.... so basically, never. Actually, if it's lossless, I'd go for DRM so long as I can burn it to cd w/o any issue.

and yeah, the sandisk is probably the closest if you're looking at the 4GB range. It actually seems pretty nice.

Sansa is nice, so is the Zen Micro.

Yahoo is starting to offer DRM less for 1.99 a song...

How so? All the music you could ever want for a flat fee. I don't care if I don't own it. Some people spend more money in one day on lunch...

Absolutely. I don't care if I own it. Less storage, and carry time. I just want it, when I want it. And, with IP saturation, I can get it in a ton of places on a wide range of gadgets (MP3 players, PDAs, phones, laptops, game consoles, PSPs, desktops etc.)

the Zen V is pretty cool, they have a 2gb for $150. Zen Micro Photo is 4gb for 179.99 and 8gb for 199.99. And as always, those are normal retail prices and if you look around or go fleebay you can prob get at least 10% off.

Ok, so what does Plays for sure compatible mean?

It means you can use Windows Explorer to drag and drop files onto the music player without installing special drivers.
