Approximately how much weight (even a ballpark estimate) could a person loose doing this diet and exercise for 3 months?

160 lb 54 year old female walks briskly for 12 to 24 minutes per day, 7 days a week (weather permitting). The circuit contains some slight uphill/downhill pavement, though mostly flat. Began using apple cider vinegar for weight loss 15 weeks ago- 1 cap full per day, poured into a cup of green tea. Drinks total of 3-5 cups of green tea daily. The total caloric intake is approx 965 calories per day.

Breakfast:
2 Eggs- 156 Calories
1/2 cup Oatmeal- 150 Calories
1 Slice Bread- 80 Calories

Lunch and Dinner:
2 salads (white wine vinegar as dressing)-30 Calories
Whole Chocolate Bar- 540 calories

4 cups Green Tea throughout day- 9.8 Calories
Total: 965 Calories

Have you taken this diet on prescription by fitness trainer?

No, this was a diet they just decided on because they wanted to eat healthier, loose weight and work off stress. Is this fitness plan a good idea? What can you tell me about weight loss potential and health effects?

That is a terrible diet. That is way too little calories for a 54 year old adult, let alone, more than half of it being a chocolate bar.

I mean, will definitely lose weight. But that is not a healthy way of doing it. I've lost massive weight two times in my life. When I was 20-21, dropped from 225 to 150 in a relatively short time. I'm 5'10 1/2, male, normally thin athletic build. Did cardio every day, lifted weights, and did a low calorie as described. It was not a healthy look. I weighed 155 in high school, looked fine, healthy. But dropping all that weight that quickly, my cheeks were gaunt, skin was pale/white. It was definitely not good.

Second time around, was roughly a couple years ago, went from 265 to 170 in roughly a years time. Cardio every day, lifted weights as well, but made sure I was eating proper nutrition. Didn't starve myself, was consuming around 1500 calories a day. Had a few cheat days a month, and was a much healthier approach. Took longer, but it didn't affect my health second time around.

I can't say exactly how much weight will be lost with what you described, every person is different, body builds, metabolism, etc. But it is definitely NOT healthy. May be eating some healthy foods, in that list, which is fine. Honestly, just increase the calorie intake a bit, and should be fine, will lose weight, without making it too unhealthy. go with a 8-16 intermittent fast. Eat within an 8 hour period, don't eat later into the night.

Here would be my routine from morning on.

Oatmeal + banana for breakfast, and a cup of coffee.
Lift weights (finish with 30 minutes of cardio, set pace).
chicken based meal for protein, would normally have some rice with it or some side dish of vegetables (normally broccoli)
Homemade protein bar (peanut butter, oatmeal, honey, cashews, and vegan protein powder made into no bake bars)
Last fourth meal would vary. Sometimes fruits, cashews, hard boiled eggs. Protein shake as well.

That's it, aside from the multivitamin as well. Would drink green tea with every meal. White tea through the day as well. But roughly calculating it out, was eating around 1500 calories in my portions.

Overall though, what you described is fine in terms of routine. But I would drop the chocolate bar, add more nutritious foods, and increase calorie intake by a bit. Just keep it low calorie (around 1200-1500), and low carb (Not no carbs, just low carb). Put that with an 8-16 intermittent fast. Should lose weight in a healthy way. Might take some time to get use to the 8-16 split. But works.

15 weeks at that diet and she's ruined her hormones completely. She'll be unable to lose weight until she fixes that first.

Without knowing much else, a normal healthy maintenance number of calories is probably in the 1800-2000 range with the low level of activity. She shouldn't have to drop more than 200-400 calories a day for 12 weeks to lose 10 lb or so.

Not enough protein, too many useless calories.

At 54, this theoretical woman should be hitting the gym regularly, lifting heavy in the gym with traditional movements (bench press, squat, deadlift) to help improve bone density.
In addition, this theoretical woman should identify her TDEE and work her dietary plans around that. It's possible there is a human where 900 calories a day is a good idea, but it would be a very small human. As humans age, their body becomes less able to extract all the micronutrients from the food we eat. Thus as people get older they should be eating more nutrient-dense foods.

Thus this theoretical woman should identify her TDEE, start lifting weights, and likely start eating more food. If their weight is newly gained, they may want to visit their doctor and talk to them about this. As humans age, some hormone processes can stop working correctly, and that can result in unexpected weight gain. They can do tests to make sure everything is o.k., but the only way you get that done is by talking to your doctor.
