$800 to get laid? That's sad. A hooker would be cheaper.

Adding in a 17in monitor would mean a system based on the ECS KT266A mobo with a duron....

Be a man and build it yourself. I built my g/f a computer for our like 7-month anniversary. :)

You won't find any "store" online that'll have a decent computer for 800 bones, let alone one with a monitor. :(

Go to "http://www.newegg.com" and order your parts, then build it yourself. :)

If you have the peripherals then you could go to any number of online stores and buya barebone pc (case, motherboard, processor, and ram and then add her old peripherals into it. That is prob your cheapest route and really the only way you are going to get anything decent for 800

I don't he is talking about a high performance gaming rig here ..

in that case, a friend of mine got a P4 1.4 w/everything (no monitor) for like $600 on eBay

if you don't want anything high end then just go to best buy and pick up a pc there with monitor and everything for around that price. make sure you know what you want and a little about the stuff because they will rip you off buying complete sytstems. but you can get machines thee very cheap.

If you want stable, a MSI Turbo, TurboLE, or Turbo2 are all really stable boards with oc features that use SDRAM. :)

Daovonnaex, what is your problem? We don't act like assholes nor speak when we have nothing productive to say at AT. You should learn this quick.

You could look for a barebone system that comes with a motherboard and processor for about $300-$400, and just get the missing parts.

In the words of Steven, Dude get a Dell!

Want to save a couple hundred, go to their refurb section, comes with full warranty, just cheaper. And just the tower with the parts inside it like you asked for.

i like some of the barebones setups that Mwave has, you can choose from some decent mobo/proc combos, throw in a cdrw if you need, its fairly decent.

all that said i would just buy the parts and assemble it yourself tho.

all the ladies really dig a man that assembles his own pc's [riiiiiiiight :) ]

Nothing in that price range including a monitor really came to mind other than Gateway, and the adjective I used was more or less optional. That said, a company called Systemax sells pretty affordable machines with a good warranty and tech support, it seems like a decent choice if she's not gaming.
