Hi all,
I was one of the unlucky few who graduated in 2002 with a degree in electrical engineering. Needless to say, the job hunt hasn't faired so well.
So far I've only managed to get an entry-level type power engineering job. There I was treated like a secretary, learned nothing, and was WAY underpaid.
So I now find myself looking for a job, and still struggling to network. I've given in to this:
What's in it for you:
- I will purchase a laptop (nothing too crazy, at my discretion), for any person that gets me a job with the following parameters: Consider it a headhunters reward.
- Is either in the engineering, IT, ecommerce(web design/marketing), or management field
- pay should be at least 50k and include benefits such as medical and 401k
- prefer location around Chicago or Denver, but am flexible as long as it's near a big city
What skills/qualifications do I have?
- Graduate from University of Illinois in 2002 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. UIUC is consistently ranked among the top 3 engineering schools in the country
- Have a minor in bioengineering and am extremely interested in medical devices
Engineering Related:
- Circuit Simulation: OrCAD PSpice / Agilent VEE / Mentor Graphics / Labview / MatLab / PCBExpress
- Drafting and modeling: SolidWorks / AutoCAD (basics mostly)
- General: Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, Logic Analyzers
- Experience with microcontrollers including Atmel AVR?s, PICS, and HC911 models
- General analog circuit design principles involving op-amps, filtering, transmission line theory, impedance matching, power systems, and more.
Computer Related:
- DOS, Win 3.11-XP, Mac, UNIX
- HTML, PHP, mySQL, Java, C, assembly, VHDL
- Microsoft Networking skills (2k/2003 server, active directory)
- Web development (HTML, PHP, mySQL, CSS, and more)
- Internet marketing and search engine optimization
