Hi all,

I was one of the unlucky few who graduated in 2002 with a degree in electrical engineering. Needless to say, the job hunt hasn't faired so well.

So far I've only managed to get an entry-level type power engineering job. There I was treated like a secretary, learned nothing, and was WAY underpaid.

So I now find myself looking for a job, and still struggling to network. I've given in to this:

What's in it for you:
- I will purchase a laptop (nothing too crazy, at my discretion), for any person that gets me a job with the following parameters: Consider it a headhunters reward.

- Is either in the engineering, IT, ecommerce(web design/marketing), or management field
- pay should be at least 50k and include benefits such as medical and 401k
- prefer location around Chicago or Denver, but am flexible as long as it's near a big city

What skills/qualifications do I have?
- Graduate from University of Illinois in 2002 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. UIUC is consistently ranked among the top 3 engineering schools in the country
- Have a minor in bioengineering and am extremely interested in medical devices

Engineering Related:
- Circuit Simulation: OrCAD PSpice / Agilent VEE / Mentor Graphics / Labview / MatLab / PCBExpress
- Drafting and modeling: SolidWorks / AutoCAD (basics mostly)
- General: Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, Logic Analyzers
- Experience with microcontrollers including Atmel AVR?s, PICS, and HC911 models
- General analog circuit design principles involving op-amps, filtering, transmission line theory, impedance matching, power systems, and more.

Computer Related:
- DOS, Win 3.11-XP, Mac, UNIX
- HTML, PHP, mySQL, Java, C, assembly, VHDL
- Microsoft Networking skills (2k/2003 server, active directory)
- Web development (HTML, PHP, mySQL, CSS, and more)
- Internet marketing and search engine optimization

Would you be interesting in relocating to the Northeast? Raytheon is hiring big time, at least in the northeast. I will be starting with them on the 25th of April. Forward me your resume and I'll see what I can do.

Edit: I'm a EE too.

Does the job have to last more than 1 day to be eligible for the laptop?

I'll hire you to work all day on Friday, then you give me my laptop.

word of advice if you cut/paste this from your resume.
Move Dos, Windows 3.11, and HTML to the end of the lines, or heck even REMOVE dos, windows 3.11. The things at the beginning should be C, Java, VHDL, PHP...

Graduated in '02 with a crappy gpa - about 2.8. This equates to a B- though, but I guess employers don't see it that way. Nor do they care that I took classes like organic and biochem instead of the easy electives. Nor do they consider that I came from one of the hardest engineering schools in the country.

Oh well.

How about Sales Manager...How does this sound?... Its in the Denver CO area.

The Builder TM deals directly with the builders in the territory and may have some account responsibility. Analyzes sales statistics by reviewing computer reports specific to his/her territory to formulate goals and to assist dealers in promoting sales. This is accomplished by evaluating hard copy and on-line reports transmitted through an automated system. Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and discount rates, and develops sales campaigns to accommodate goals of the company. The ability to interface/communicate with a diverse group of customers in a friendly and respectable manner. Possess a flexible personality. A full understanding of the assigned product-line in all flooring categories is essential. Furthermore, an understanding of the end-use application that each product serves is critical. Analyzes and controls expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements. Previous sales experience required.
