I need a software that monitors GPU temps...

I know there are a bunch of programs out there that tell you your GPU temp (RivaTuner, ExperTool, nVidia settings) but I want one that tells me my video memory temps too. Thanks.

Temp detection in regular computers can be done in two ways.

1. Embedded ? Most diodes conductivities is sensitive to temperature. By embedding an extra diode in the Chip and giving it a connection to the winbond to provide information about Temperature. The software that provides the Temperature reading is programmed to read and translate the Winbond information.

I doubt that GPU memory or any of the consumers? memory chips is equipped with such a diode.

2. Attaching outside termistor to the surface of the Chip and measure the termistor conductivity (which depends on the temperature) with third party device. Or using the Game port as an A/D converter and write your own utility.

My ramsinks are hot to the touch (like I can't keep my finger on them for more than a few seconds)...is this normal?

I'm not OCing at all. Look at my video card...6800Ultra...so with mere copper ramsinks am I supposed to be able to cool this thing so it's not hot to the touch? :disgust:

nvmonitor works pretty well too.

edit: to date there is no software that can monitor the temperature of the memory.

Yeah that's what I figured. I know ASUS puts sensors in their video cards so you can monitor it with ASUS SmartDoctor, but that only works in ASUS brand cards.

I ran 3DMark05 with no artifacts, played some CS:S for about 20 minutes fine, so I guess as long as I don't get any artifacts it's fine.
