My logitech z-2200 speaker system has been acting up lately. Im getting extremely loud static/crakeling from the speakers and sub. I have ruled out everything, and have narrow down the problem to the volume knob on the control pod. I have detatched the volume potentionmeter from the PCB (pics of the pots below)

Here are some marking from the pots.
A10K
Alpha
3L4

I need a replacement but im not sure on what to order, or even where to order it from.
So any help would be apperiated.

You could try Mouser (www.mouser.com). It will take a while to wade through all the possibilities, but they do carry alpha and you can just keep looking until you find a matching picture. You are probably looking for a 10K ohm pot. Chances are good that you want an audio taper (the other option is linear) but there are no gaurantees here.

If you have an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the two outer pins of the three in a row. If it's within about 20% of 10,000 ohms, you need a 10K pot.

its just a pot... you can buy just about anything and shove it in there... just make sure it takes the right amps...
