Sorry, been really busy here at work. Friday (we had off) so she calls me and I hinted that I'm going to canada over the weekend. Sunday night, I emailed her and was like lets do capital grille this coming week.


7:50AM Monday morning I got a email, I didn't reply or call in.
From Boss:
Good morning,

I am still letting everything sink in, BUT please tell me this is a VERY BAD JOKE and I am not currently living in a bad nightmare this Monday morning?

At this point, she had asked her admin to read the letter and see if it was a joke. So one of the vp with another fake letter walked in around the same time was like wtf is going on, he's leaving, etc,etc and she got freaked out.

Before I quit because of the bad news I received this morning…

xxx has a TON of good email messages going straight to his JUNK E-Mail folder. How do I correct this without having to select each message?

So I walked in around lunch time where we had my farewell bbq, someone forgot the farewell banner so it wasn't as funny. So we just chat around and ate the food and she didn't confront me or anything, around 1:30PM, I walked into her office and said ok I was just kidding. She almost killed me because she was having such a bad day. She called her admin and they were like shame on you, we never thought the quiet one would do this, one of the other VP that was not in on the joke was like that burger is 20 bucks since you dont work here anymore

She calls her husband and he was laughing so loud on the phone.

She told me 6AM, they made her coffee wrong, so it already started out bad, she missed her train at 6:15 and the icing on the cake was my quitting letter. She didn't want to be mad at me because I had several upgrades to do, exch 2013, new san, etc. and she thought that if she got really mad I would walk out and she be stuck doing the upgrades.

So in her mind, she was like oh maybe thats why he was in canada, looking for places to move into and my email about capital grill was that we'll have a nice meal before I leave.

monday night I got an email from her

"Thank you for all the laughs!

I guess I need to relax a little."

I told her about some of the other suggestions, ie the magazine cut out letters, she told me she would be freaked out if she got one of those

I had several friends, as well as my sister-in-law, believing I was a new father (in my story the mother, whose name I said I had forgot, was a sophmore in high school but had been held back for two years due to drug issues. She had a 38 year old ex boyfriend and I thought she was the one). I'm 30 years old and single. I can't believe anyone fell for that pile of shit, lol, although the ones that did are rather gullible.
