I need a quiter hs/fan for this cpu!!

Here is the cpu that I'm using (downloader) but the fan is very loud.....any suggestions on a replacement?

I have that HSF and I find it very quiet

Good choice. Large diameter fan with quality HS = better cooling at the same RPM. Higher RPM = louder and more annoying high-pitch/high-frequency noise.

As long as you have the space for somethat that big and don't mind paying more than half of what your processor costs.

Thats a decent socket A HSF, the SI90 by thermalright is the best socket A heatsink but it costs a bit more, but it's another choice check it out Here

one cheap, easy way to make the comp more quiet is just get a fan adapter and put a regular 80mm fan on it. it made my AXP 1700 lots more quieter and even a tiny bit cooler.

I had a quitter for a fan before and it burned up the CPU LOL.

Get a Thermalright SLK-900-U and slap a quiet (panaflo) fan on there and be set!

I agree with the panaflo too sure will cool that t bird down to a chill. And it is quit too.

Thermaltake is almost always loud, but no way a 2500rpm fan is making noise. Last HSF I bought of theirs was a ~4500rpm socket A HSF, and it was a skinny fan which made quite a high pitched whirrr. Anyways, if you can come up with one of the newer AMD stock HSF's, those are pretty great, very quiet too, and shouldn't be tough on the wallet.

The Thermaltake should work but I'll suggest the Zalman 7000Cu for you. Very nice heatsink.

The silent boost is the best heatsink for the socket A platform. The performance to noise ratio is the highest in it's class.
