I need a quick answer about a MONEY Order and Canada?

Hi,

I just sent a trader a United States Postal Money Order. He says that his bank said it was worthless in Canada and that he'd have to go to the USA to cash it?????

What is up? What can he do, short of sending it back to me. Is there a way for a Canadian to cash a postal money order?

Did you send a pink one or a green one?

if its a US only, the PO won't cash it, but the bank should, if you bitch at them a bit.

It is the yellow and green one. Just a standard issue United States Postal Money Order. He says his bank won't cash it.

The PO won't touch it at ALL. he has no recourse except to send it back to you, and you send out a new RIGHT one.

WTF, crap. You mean Canadian banks won't take American Currency?

Anyone got any ideas other than me just asking him to send it back? It took a week to get there and I really needed this part for a gift 😛

Why would a bank in Canada not take this? C'mon? I knew the post office in Canada would not take it, but why won't a bank let him deposit it till the funds clear?
