I need a PSU with many molex connectors!

Hi all. I currently have a 450W wintech PSU in my system, and while it has been working great for a few years I have a need to replace it. The problem is that I have too many things in my case and am sick of all the freaking Y connectors I have in my system. One of the molex is bad and sometimes shuts down my boot drive in the middle of use which is bad! I currently have these devices in my system:

6 HDs (six power connections)
1 DVD Burner (one power connection)
1 CDRW/DVD combo (one power connector)
9800 Pro (one power connector)
2 Antec fans that run off a Molex (2 connections)

Is there a power supply that has at least 10 standard molex connectors (for a P4 system)? If so PLEASE let me know which, thanks.

Call Pc Power and Cooling ( 800-722-6555 ) they will custom build a PSU to fit your needs. A Turbo Cool 510 is the Industries best made PSU.

The Antec TruePower line comes with 7 molex and 2 seperate fan only molex connectors. One splitter would set you up.

What about THIS one? It says it has 8 4pin, 2 sata (one of my HDS is SATA)? This brand any good? Thanks for the replies! 🙂

They can custom-build power supplies?! Now that's a great idea.

The ThermalTake Silent PurePower supplies have 9 4-pin Molex connectors, 2 Floppy connectors, and 2 SATA connectors. You could daisy-chain the fans from one connector (at least you can with fans I've seen). I think it would be able to handle your system, but the 6 drives may pose a problem (I don't know how much powre those use).

Why not just buy a couple of Y-connectors?

I know cyberguys.com sells them, and probably also Directron, Newegg, SVC, many others.

Cuz I too many Y connectors and one or more may be bad and I dont want to trouble shoot as I may cause damage to one or mor HDs, one has already developed bad sectors cuz it was shutting on and off because of a bad Y connector. I want to do away with Y connectors.

I always thought my enermax with 8 molex connectors was too much 🙂 Anyhow, I think all enermax psu's come with 8, but I'm not entirely sure. They should also come with a few sata connectors.

I'd also use the y-connectors on less important things like the case fans. Well, depending on how hot your system gets, they may be more important..

The Aspire PSU doesn't look too bad. I haven't found any bad reviews on them anywhere, although if it's not an antec, enermax, sparkle, fortron or pcpower&cooling, some guys here will always say it's bad 🙂

Take a look at the rosewill psu's on newegg also. They've been working great for quite a few people in the forums.

Well, I ordered the Aspire as it seems to have gotten good reviews and has the number of connections I need. It cant be worse than my Wintec 450w PSU and its been good to me for years. I'll let ya know if it blows up! 🙂
