I need a notebook

No Lifer
Office Depot has this
laptop for $550 after rebate(link is for ebay, I had a hard time finding the exact machine online).

Do you think this is pretty good? $500-$600 is my price range. The cpu seems good enough, and I find the 2gb ram and Vista Home Premium attractive.

This is for fairly light duty use. No games or anything particularly demanding.

Opinions?

Edit: Thanks for the move mods  I forgot about the notebook forum 😱

If the machine is really a Thinkpad, then $550 AR is a pretty nice price. I'd pick it up if I hadn't already gotten my Dell.

Yeah, ~$600 or so is a decent deal for that. It's only an N100, and it's the last model (current model has 1.86ghz CPUs i believe).

Thanks a lot guys, I went ahead and bought it. I posted the ebay link because I had a hard time finding the complete specs listed elsewhere. I bought it from Office Depot, for $550 after rebate. I still need to open it up, but I think think this'll be a great computer for my purposes.

Again thank you all for your input
