I need a new TV series to watch

The wife and I just finished watching Game of Thrones and loved it.
We started watching Alcatraz, but it's not looking too promising so far, so we're looking for another series to get into.

Any suggestions?

Our favorites:
Game of Thrones
Dexter
Boardwalk Empire
Sons of Anarchy
True Blood
Lost

Others we've watched:
24
Prison Break
Terra Nova

Sherlock. I'm about to finish the third and final episode of Season 1 tonight and I think it's quite good.

Luck looks promising, I think that starts soon. Have you watched Justified? It's awesome and I think season three just started.

Sherlock is only 6 episodes but they're 1.5 hours a piece and a good pick.

I'd recommend Rome, Spartacus, Scrubs, and if you're into True Blood there are a bunch of other ones in that genre that can be entertaining.

Also, if you haven't seen the Tudors that's a good one.

Breaking Bad
Californication
Lie to Me
Suits
Spartacus (but you can watch the 2nd season first as it's a prequel)

Sparticus starts back up this week.

Breaking Bad
Pushing Daisies (not on anymore)
Testees (not on anymore)
Carnivale (not on anymore)
Burn Notice

Has anyone watched Pen and Teller Fool Us? It's pretty crazy and funny as well.

I was also disappointed in Alcatraz...I really was hoping it'd be decent. I normally like Sam Neil's work.

We're not generally big Sci Fi fans, at least when it comes to a series.

I've tried Firefly and Battleship Galactica and just got bored.

You might like Life on Mars--I only watched one or two episodes, but it's well--real Sci Fi, maybe "light Sci Fi." i think BSG is good, but it's mostly fantasy, of course. Same with Firefly.

Life on Mars is about a detective that somehow finds himself stuck in the 70s after an accident. that's pretty much the only "sci fi" you get. It's good. There is an American version, but I haven't watched it.

Once Upon a Time is a bit chick-ish, but it's by Lost writers and everyone can relate to the stories unless you grew up under a 'no fairytales' household.

It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, nothing even close to any show you mentioned. But holy shit hilarious if you haven't watched it. Of course if you or your wife are easily offended this show wouldn't work out well.

It's Always Sunny is awful, besides he does not seem to be looking for sitcoms.

Has anyone watched Homeland? I've heard good things. I kind of want to catch up with it at some point.

It is pretty terrible. I watched an episode and enjoyed it, then realized that the entire episode was the same as the first 5 minutes. same with the next handful of episodes that I sat through. Same stupid jokes over and over.
