I need a new power supply

Hey guys,

I need 500+ power supply to power up my 6 80mm fans, 1 92mm tornado fan, 64 3500+, 6800GT, Audigy2 ZS, some neons and neo2-p.

I realy need a good power supply 500+ wat, I'm willing to spend up to 100$. Cooling is also my concern, I cannot have my psu blowing hot air inside my case.

out of all you guys mention I could only afford OCZ Modstream. Seems like very good power supply. But is the fan blowing air in the case? Because I really cannot afford hot PSU air in my case.

forton blue storm as a bare minium, although if you want to shich out more money then the powerstream, noisetaker, seasonic, or a PCP&C will be better. stay away from the mod stream its more of a cosmetic PSU with its modular design and uv reactive cables then the power house you need for a powerhouse system like yours.
 
Well, most of these psus are over 100$, I really cany spend that much. Could you perhaps link me to "forton blue storm" psu? I could not find it my self.

About the psu that blow hot air INTO the case, look at This PSU it has only one 120mm fan cooling the psu, there are no exhaust fans however... so the hot air will eventually end up in your case.

Now, what do you guys this about this Aspire PSU it's very cheap 55$, it has very good reviews on newegg tho. I dont think its that bad? 80 good reviews seems promising. What do you guys think? This is the psu I'm really aiming for. Cheap, known brand and high wattage.

PSUs can't blow hot air into your case. They suck the hot air OUT of your case. There's usually 2 fans: 1 intake (facing down) and 1 exhaust (facing out of your case).

Aspire is a brand to avoid 😉. Unstable rails, might die after a few days of use.

The Aerocool you linked to isn't native ATX2.0.

Uh.... that's an intake fan.... it sucks the hot air from your case and the hot air escapes out of the holes in the front.

Under $100?
OCZ Modstream 520W is under $100
Fortron BlueStorm 500W is also under $100.

I think the Modstream might have a few shaky rails, but nothing too bad to worry about.

That said, the BlueStorm is a better choice (it's cheaper than the Modstream anyways)

You don't need 500w, unless you're buying over-rated junk. There's a lot of it out there, seeing as how there's absolutely no truth in advertising wrt PSU's.

Don't waste your money on glitzy crap because you've got some number stuck in your head, buy one of these-

New model, so you get the loss-leader introductory price. Can't go wrong with a Fortron, they make some of the best units on the market, period. They're also marketed under the Sparkle, Inwin and sometimes PCP&C labels...

Just be sure you need the 24 pin mobo plug, otherwise pick a different fortron w/ 20 pin plug...

I do have a question actually. I need a new PSU myself. How is the 500Watt SMART POWER 2.0 Antec power supplies. Is there a reason to get a true power over a smart power? Smart power are cheaper, thats just what bugs me. I guess smart power has some power saving things it does, is that gonna hurt performance?
 
smart powers don't have the feedback lines so they won't have the tight tolerances that the tpII has.
 
Unless you just want the blue look, is there any reason to get the 500W Fortron over the plain grey 450W Fortron? The 450W one shows higher amps on the 12v rails (18amps for the 450W vs 15amps for the 500W). Seems strange.
