Sadly, :( it isn't so anymore. in fact, we are double that at number 20! number one is this "Gaia Anime Roleplaying Forum"! the outrage! comeon ppl! nef nef nef! jk. it's because our Mods actually delete thread and lock em. anyway, getting lost on an internet forum such as ATOT is a great option. in fact, i think i may have inadvertntly done so myself...

golf should take up plenty of ur time.. and its addictive as hell!

if u are just starting out it is kind of boring in the driving range.. but once u play on the course u are hooked!

I still remember the first time I broke 100, then broke 90..
first time I made birdie.. etc (no eagles yet)

I second this, i have sooo much fun with these damn things, you can spend alot of time on these bad boys, between driving, cleaning and wrenching(ie. working on them) on them.

Although, i would suggest a 1/10th scale monster truck, and specifically a traxxas t-maxx. It's what i have and i love it, it really depends how you would use it, for rugged off road, i'd say t-maxx, on a track, a buggy would probabaly perform better, but i'd still perfer a monster truck, just can do more things with them. I like to jump mine, and generally abuse it pretty good, so i think i would destroy a buggy, i could be wrong as i've never used one. One word of caution i would give though, be prepared to spend some cash on this hobby, because saddly enough it isn't cheap.

I've probably dropped between $5000 - $6000 on this stuff. :Q

If you have a track nearby I would say buggy. Handles so much better. Get into racing and you're hooked. :)

I've been taking courses (psychology) and workshops (art) for fun for the past year.

I just came back from a 6 country trip in Europe.

but everything feels like the same old routine. bowling isnt what it used to be. i'm taking different classes/workshops now, but it's the same thing as the rest in that when the class ends, i dont incorporate it into my life.

Suggest something new.

How about getting your fat a$$ in shape :)

Volunteer to help out with kids groups or to teach retired people something that you are good at?

Weightlifting/Swimming. Weightlifting sucks at first if you're not used to it, but then you're body gets addicted to it and you love it.

I'll thrown in another vote for golf ... great friendships, challenging game and being outside all the time. I play as much as I can, and there are always more challenges :)

How much cash are you willing to invest in this new hobby?

Reading can be done on the cheap. Just get a library card.

I really enjoy hiking. Borrow some equipment and get outdoors. You can eventually buy your own equipment if you like it. There's always some place local you can head, and if you are willing to travel a bit there are some great destinations out there.

Take up woodworking. If you have a community college nearby that offers classes you can even use their equipment. It can be expensive, but you can make a lot of cool stuff.

Lifting weights probably isn't a bad idea either; many consider it a hobby, what with the supplements and all, and it can even help your cooking skills.

And there's always WoW :D

If you're looking to still travel, you might look into something like touring the US national parks. I know there are some you can intertube down, others raft/kayak, and there are even some in North Florida where the rocks have been smoothed by the water and it's basically a giant natual (hard) slip-n-slide. Obviously some research would need to be done to find the parks that interest you. If not national parks then maybe scuba or something. I didn't read all the other posts, so if I repeated suggestions, sorry.

Edit: Example, you can train to climb El Capitan at Yosemite.
