Looking for a good backpack to carry my little ones necessities.

I would like something rugged and visually pleasing. There's 1,000,000 backpacks to sort through on Amazon, could use some help ;)

A burlap bag supplemented with duct tape is the only thing your are going to get that looks even remotely manly.

Manly men don't carry diaper bags, that's what the wife is for. :colbert:

Except when she makes me carry that bag, which is a Longchamp bag, standard mommies issue diaper bag.

i used a backpack i got from camel (cigarettes, not the water bags) for almost a year before people started bitching about it. it looked like this

i actually still use it for overnight work trips, the damn bag is 20 or so years old.

after the camel bag i used a looney tunes school backpack. that sucker lasted about a year or so. with my twins i used my punisher backpack, despite the exwife trying to get me to use the humongous monstrosity of a bag she had picked. i stayed home with the kids, so the bag was my choice.

I used a daypack, or if I was traveling light, stuffed everything in my cargo pockets.

Really, the only true manly diaper bag is a plastic Walmart (or similar) shopping bag. No real man is going to pre-plan something to this level. First you have to shop for and purchase said bag. Then you need to have it somewhere you can find it, presumably packed with the essentials and ready to go.

A real man will just stuff a bunch of shit in a plastic bag, grab the kid and hit the road. And that is only if your woman isn't around to be taking care of this stuff in the first place.

As a manly man who has been there done that, a manly diaper bag is whatever is packed with necessities and ready to go. I could give 2 shits if was covered in flowers and had a picture a unicorn on it.

Do I have to restock it? Then bag is not manly
Is filled with diapers, wipes, bottles etc etc? Instant manly bag.

Manliness is not given a fuck about what some asshole thinks about a diaperbag.
Bonus points if bag is easily rinsed off with garden hose.

A diaper bag is a diaper bag. It just isn't going to look manly, unless you have a real rotting skull hanging off it or something.

But yeah, a real man wouldn't care what the damn thing looks like. ;)

Seriously though, just about any bag will do, as long as it has several pockets or compartments. If you like the look of a certain bag, just buy it. It doesn't have say "diaper bag" in the description.

Came to post range bag, already been posted.

A diaper bag will shrink as your kids get older. Not that they don't need as many diapers, but you start realizing how pointless have the stuff in it is.

If I had it to do over, I'd have a go bag at the ready at all times. 3 diapers, bag of wipes, bottle with water, measured formula. Should be about the size of a half a loaf of bread. That would cover 98% of all needs. For extended trips, I would have a bug out bag. This would have a sleeve of diapers, bag of wipes, can of formula, 3 outfits and 5 bottles. That would get you through outings no problem and would about the size of a laptop bag.

Then I would consider a SHTF bag. This would include all things in the bug out bag plus Clorox wipes, change of clothes for me, $50 cash and a credit card.

Agree with Paul and Eug. Our bags were usually some company show chum bag. Now a days they would be considered cloth grocery bags.

Does not matter what it looks like, just don't ever leave home with out it.

And never leave it in the car because you don't want to drag it into the store. Every single time you do this, your baby will let go a Hiroshima style poop. Outfit, diaper, car seat, random kid 3 aisles over, will all be covered in baby mess. And you will have to ditch everything and run for the car. At which point you will decide its easier just to head to the car wash and spray everything down.
