I need a man!

(or woman, to help answer a speaker question for me 🙂 )

I'm wondering if anyone can help me locate some decent speakers. I'm looking for a PC speaker set up that includes 2 average sized satelite speakers and 1 sub-woofer. It also must have auxiliary rca input jacks so that my playstation 2 will be able to plug in to them. The speakers don't need to be top of the line, actually looking for something fairly reasonably priced. Anything will help!

Cambridge, Altec-Lansing and Logitech usually has some decent speakers under $50.00 dollars.

uhm..$50 is usally less than $100 ... I think ..gl on the hunt 🙂

I replaced my Cambridge Sound works with Logitech, and I am not too pleased with the bass. It is exagerated mid bass. Worse than most computer speakers. But, everyone else loves them.

I'm trying to hook up a playstation 2 to the speakers instead of using the tv's speakers. It's for my MAME and I'd like to use the same computer speakers for both MAME games and playstation games.

I'm not sure how to connect them but I thought if it had RCA connectors then I could just plug the audio cable from the playstation in to the speakers.

Check out Logitech's stuff. I've heard a lot of good things about their speakers, and I'm sure you can get something under $100. If you've got a Dell catalog, you might check and see if they have any Harman Kardon speakers available. My wife got a set of them along with a big sub with her laptop, and I ordered a set for myself to use on my computer. Very nice speakers and sub for $50.

So an adapter will allow the ps2 to plug in to the speakers? What kind of connector on the speakers do I need for the adapter to plug in to?

i saw the white van the other day. i was leaving the parking lot of the grocery store and waiting for a hole in the traffic when a guy in a white van turns into the lot then yells if i wanna buy some speakers

Well on the logitech speakers that I have, there is no "standard conection" for an adapter that I know of. Only output ports for the speakers from the sub and one for the headphones.

So how do I know which speakers will work with an adapter?

In the link above, there are no female slots. I might be confused but how does the ps2 audio cable plug in to that adapter which plugs in to the speakers?

ive seen pc speakers around for $1.50 and what you could do is get an analog to RCA converter. ill report back with findings

You can get all kinds of configurations. Male, female, male and female....

Ah, I see. Well then the only question left is what kind of input do I need on the speakers to hook up to the adapter? As in, what should I look for when I'm shopping for speakers?
