I graduate from college in May, have a woman I'm going to marry shortly thereafter, and I have no job lined up.

I'm stressing...

I live in Portland, Oregon area and (will) have a BS in Computer Science with proficiencies in Java, C++, PHP, databases, networks, unix system administration, etc. etc. etc.

I realize I could probably move up to Seattle and get a job before a day passed, but moving isn't an option for my wifey.

Where should I look for an entry-level job so that my woman doesn't leave me for some rich schmuck (with a job)?

http://portland.craigslist.org/sof/ seems to have mostly Sr. positions
http://monster.com hasn't even shown one useful result
http://dice.com has shown various opportunities but none respond

suggestions?

Apply to the Senior positions.
Find out if your old Alma Mater has some jobs open in their IT/programming staff.
Find out some jobs off of your college.
Dice is a good tech website to use. Just keep updating your Resume and try to find some easy contract work in town.

Have any connections with old friends that could give you an in?

**EDIT**
BTW look up some support staff jobs in your city, county, or state government jobs. They can be pretty interesting and easy (pay isn't as good as private sector), but if you have connection you can get a decent pay with great benefits.

The girl teaches piano lessons. She has a clientel of 20 students currently, and hates the fact of starting over. In addition, all of her family is here...

She makes a decent income by herself, but I don't think I could be a stay-at-home husband with no children... :p

If you aren't even married yet and she controls you think of what it will be like when you are married. Now find your balls put on some pants and tell her if she loves you she?ll move where you can support her.

Hey I'm in a similar position also. I will be graduating this May and I don't have a job yet either. How does a newly grad without any experience get a job in the IT field when most of the openings look for experienced Senior level staffs?

Sounds like you know a lot, shouldn't be a problem finding a job. Just post up your resume and recruiters will find you.

Check your school career center and networking. Base on my 10 years professional work experience, those are the best job leads.

I also like Hotjobs, CareerBuilder, and Monster.
