I need a job, one that doesn't suck too much. I don't have my GED yet either, so my options are kind of limited. Any job i can get that doesn't suck too bad? I'd rather have bad pay and a not so crappy job than a bad job with good pay. Any recommendations?

The fast food industry is always looking for motivated individuals such as yourself.

I just picked up a J.O.B at a golf course the other day. It looks like a pretty decent job.

Eh you can join the ranks of us retail people, not the best, but after a while the pay can be ok, and its always a change talking to different people about things you enjoy. Im currently stuck in retail because I cant afford to lose my health insurance, but overall Im semi happy, as long as you enjoy the people you work with, and since I am kind of stuck due to health reasons, working on managment opportunities, and the pay is pretty good for not going to college. I was a electronics tech and made pretty good money for a while, but while I was unemployed I took up this retail job then the health issues cropped up. Honestly Im happier doing this because I HATE doing the same thing over and over and being a electronics tech was just that.

You should apply for a job at HP.

We are doing a site migration, the contractor (HP) that we got for this site in La Jolla screwed up majorly.

How hard is it to copy a directory from the server itself to another server? The guy is suppose to drag and drop it in another folder to the other sever. he dropped it on the desktop itself!!!! That filled up 7 gigs of the system partition quite fast and cause the backup to fail. ARGH! I'm going home at regardless at 12 midnight. :|

HP = Hewlett Packard?

Fast food places will be my last resort, so anything else i'll be more interested in. By the way, i'm looking for a Part-time job, not full time. Thanks for the replies...must be a lot of people on tonight.

Your ability to get a good job will be increased greatly if you already have a job and tell a potential employer that you're are looking to improve yourself.

Therefore, any job is a good job.

Yes, Hewlett Packard (Who go the lowest bid for this project), join them and you get to go to exotic places like Erie, PA, Hilton Head, NC, or even Hilo, HI.

Sometimes after August, we are doing South America migration so who knows, maybe you'll get to go to Sao Paulo.

hmm ... maybe a valet, golf caddy, or a banquet hall server .. all should pay better than fast food, and IMO, these are much better jobs.

Work for a carpet cleaner (e.g. Stanley Steamer). The physical labor will motivate you to get your GED, pursue higher education, and get a job you both enjoy and deserve to have. :wine:

I had to remote into the server and do it myself. Looks like I'm staying past midnight. :|

The same guy backup the whole server when we only need the userdata folder. So that caused some major delay. I don't understand why people can't follow directions.

Looks like I have to let this guy go, I don't like getting people removed from the project but....

it really has no relevance if you're sharp enough and want money badly enough. peter jennings, bill cosby and dave thomas all dropped out of high school.

Who said i dropped out? I'm still in school. That's why I'm looking for a Part Time job. Working at a golf course could be nice, but it would probably be real early hours, plus there's not a course anywhere too close to where i live.

You gotta do what you gotta do. If the guy cannot perform the duties of the job, then he should not be in the job.
