I need a good program to split up incredibly large wav files

I have a couple of 700+meg wav files that I need to split up into several smaller wav files so that when I create an audio CD there will be track numbers to fast forward/skip to rather than having one long track to fast forward through and without having any spaces/blips/pauses between tracks. any reccomendations?

I use soundforge for editing files, but there's things like CoolEdit I hear mentioned quite a bit.

Cool Edit 2000 is a good all-purpose shareware .wav editor.
