Can someone here recommend to me the best paintball gun i can get for $200-250 semi auto or full auto if there are any full autos available for that much? I want one that I can put pretty much any barrel/parts on to upgrade and is easy to field clean and has very few to no breaks...

I really do like the model 98, reliable, you can change barrels of different specs..fairly easy to clean, best trigger i've used to date, doesn't really break balls either...thats what i would get for the price you listed, but if you want something better, you're gonna have to pay more =\

Spyder TL or Tippmann 98 are good decent guns. The tippmann is a bit heavier and uses up ur Gas tank faster, but has a better price value. I have both of these guns. Don't ever get brass eagle they suck. If you can find an Autococker for around that price get it, its a sweet gun. Doesn't have the load clicking as the other two and shoots smooth.

hope that helps

Get an airsoft gun. Paintball sux0rs compared to airsoft!!! Cheaper for ammo, too...

Hmm I like the Tippmann Carbine and Model 98 the best. Tippmann makes great guns IMO for a nice price.

I'll sell ya my carbine and tank and the like for a good price. :)

In that pricerange I think almost anybody will recommend a tippman 98 - i think you might be able to get it for as low as $150 US? Can't remember, but $200 will definitely cover you. Its a very solid and reliable gun. I think the consensus last year when I was visiting paintball boards was that it was by far the best gun in its price range. I bought one last year and in 1000-1200 rounds I broke only one ball. Its incredibly pimp-ass for the money.

Don't get a Spyder - I guess it's good for what you pay for, but really, they are pretty lame guns...I've seen too many ship broken to trust them.

I'd definitly go for the Model 98 in that price range.

For $350 (out of your range, I know) you could get an Autococker, which performs a lot better. Although that's probably not a very good first gun - it can be pretty easy to mess something up, it's a lot more complicated.

Plus you can drop a Model 98 in a mud puddle, pick it up, and still be able to shoot (maybe with a quick barrel clean) - durable little guns. Great for first timers.

M16 should do the trick. AK-47 is pretty good also. At least when you play with leaden balls, nobody will ever argue whereas he's hit or not.

If I were a newbie with your budget, I would probably get the Tippmann '98. It's a very low maintenance gun, and as such, not all that modifiable. Get yourself an aftermarket barrel and you're all set.

If you're looking to "trick out" your marker, then maybe go with a Spyder, like I did. They have lots of aftermarket parts available--some useful, some not. I've added a regulator to mine, a drop forward, macro line, SS barrel, Venturi bolt, .45 frame w/ Hogue wraparound grip, double trigger, etc. All I need is a turbo valve, and I think I'll be done.

Now, if I were a rich man, I would probably get an Angel. Then again, my friend has the AutoMag R/T, and it's a nice gun as well.

This sure is an expensive hobby...

20 year necro. Congrats. It was utterly pointless but god bless you.

Fun fact: 20 years before this thread, the world was a very different place.
