I need a good MP3 editor..

I really need to clean up some MP3 files, you know, fade out hacked endings, fade in abrupt intros etc...Anyone have some favorites w/links??.

I usually convert them to .wav using Winamp (takes 5 seconds on my puter), then load Cooledit 2000, a very good audio editing program, and edit excactly what i want (you can zoom in for maximum precision on the edit).

I was also going to recommend Cool Edit 2000.

You don't need to convert the files to wav's, you can also edit mp3's

Cool Edit 2000 here as well. I use that for my own profesional editing purposes. Sometimes I am embarrassed to say it just because of the name "Cool Edit." Oh well, it is powerful software.

I use Goldwave (http://www.goldwave.com) It's very similar to Cooledit, but the latest version (4.0) will edit MP3's directly if you have Media Player 6.4 or above installed... very cool...
