I am going to be building a new computer soon.
I am looking at an athlon64 3400, 6800 gt, and a gig of ram. I hope to do a little overclocking, but nothing extreme.
My main points of concern are my roommate and my cat. My roommate smokes, and that with cat hair is a bad combination. I used to be able to keep my system relatively clean with just canned hair to take care of the cat hair, but when it combines with gunk of the smoking residue, its just a nasty buildup and its killing my current computer. I have lost my cd-rom drive, and my video card fan, and northbridge fan are going out. I am pretty sure its from that gunk.
So my main concerns are making sure I can move the air to cool my system, but at the same time I would like air filters BEFORE the fans if possible. Silence is also good, so 120mm fans sound like what I want. I know that if I can find something with filters, it will reduce the air flow so I would probably like more fans. A plain side window or easy to remove panel so I can keep tabs on cat hair buildup would be great. And if possible I would like an lcd temp monitor just for the cool factor. Oh, and its also in the main room of my apartment, so i am trying to avoid flashy lights, and get something plain and nice looking.
I have seen cases that match some of my wants, and I guess I can do some modding if I have to, but I have never done any before.
So does anyone have any suggestions?
