Here's another good choice in the non-fiction, military history catagory:
Blind Man's Bluff: The Untold Story of American Submarine Espionage

BatmanNate - are Nietzsche's works readable, or is it all like pseudo-intellectual babble?

Ok, thanks. Cuz I always wanted to read some of his stuff, but wasn't sure if it would be worth it. I might pick up the gay science, w/e. And by the way, its facetious

I just finished reading "The Great Escape" by Paul Brickhill. Simply an amazing account of one of the largest POW breaks of WWII. A couple hundred ppl worked on tunneling out of a german POW camp, and that's all I'll say about that. If you've seen the movie (filmed in the 60's i believe) then you have an idea of the story line, but the book is 50x better than the movie. Chicken Run was based on this book (and murdered the story)

There's a fabulous movie called The Great Escape. I suggest you see it.
I honestly don't want a book that's been remade into a movie I've seen.

The Greatest Generation or The Greatest Generation Speaks? I didn't read the first one, only Speaks which has letters veterans wrote to Brokaw after he wrote the first book. It is more of a collection of letters rather than a second book.

Another suggestion in your genres... Richard Feynman's semi-biographical books: "Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman!": Adventures of a Curious Character What Do You Care What Other People Think?: Further Adventures of a Curious Character If you don't know, Feynman is a Nobel Laureate in Physics and was involved in the Manhattan Project. These books are not hardcore biographies, but rather a look into a fascinating personality ... I've been meaning to pick up one of the true biographies one day. If you're bent that way, collections of his various lectures on physics, computation, and science in general, are very interesting. I particularly like The Character of Physical Law
