I need a good android flashlight

SAWYER

I have tried several from the play store and I am not liking them. I would prefer one that might be part of a rom that I can side load

I used to use this one before lollipop which has one built into the notification pull down area.

There isnt much to like or dislike given all it does is put on your phone's LED flash.

Thanks just installed this and all the different features are awesome. However in a tight pinch I'll probably continue to use Lollipop's built in because it's super quick and easy to access. If I need more colors or features I'll definitely use that app.

I recommend one of these:

The LED on your phone isnt designed to run constantly.
Some of the really basic feature phones circa 2004 had proper flashlights built into them.

Why do you assume my flashlight is running constantly? I use it maybe 30 seconds at a time about 10 times a month.

Even though my Nexus 5 has less than stellar battery life, I think I'll survive. Regardless thank you for the suggestion and link 😛

30 seconds is much longer than half a second. Those flashes were not intended for that kind of use.

Notification toggle. It puts a flashlight in your notification area. It even turns off just by hitting the power button. Couldnt be simpler.

I seriously doubt they will be as adversely affected as you claim.

Otherwise everyone's flashes would burn out. It's only extended uses, like many minutes consecutively where you are actively doing harm. Even then you'll probably get a new phone before the flash kills itself.
