I need a gamepad for the upcoming Madden 2006 on the PC.

Seeing as to how I dumped my XBOX, PS2, and Gamecube to make some money from them about 5 months ago, my only option for Madden this year is the PC. Seeing as to how it would be an abomination to try to use the keyboard, I'm looking for a controller to use instead. Having not looked into controllers ever in my life for a PC, I'm lost as to what's out there.

Just to give an idea, I prefer a USB controller, and the PS2 Dual Shock is absolute controller perfection IMO. Is there something similar I can use, or would it be too troublesome to get together a Dual Shock and an adapter? Whatever controller I use, it must be easily programmable, as I don't want to settle or mess with it. Nothing would ruin the experience more.

Thanks guys.

It's not hard at all to use a PS2 controller on the PC. I picked up a PS2-to-USB adapter for my brother for $12 bucks shipped off Ebay, but i think you can get them at Radio Shack also.

I finally replaced my old wired MS Sidewinder a few months with the Logitech wireless Rumblepad. The layout is identical to a PS2 controller, but the overall size of the Rumblepad is slightly larger than a PS2 controller. I love it -- I don't know why I waited so long to go with a wireless controller.

I bought a Super Dual Box which will let you connect two. It came with some DDR/Stepmania pads. Anyway, I just got PS2 generic dual shock controllers for $5 at CompUSA.

I had a ps2 usb adapter, but now I have a cordless rumblepad 2 (logitech). I prefer the rumblepad (better driver support).
