Alright, i need a game to keep me busy for a couple weeks this summer. I enjoyed freelancer, Diablo 2, Counterstrike.... all old school of course, I haven't done much gaming in the past couple years. I want something that will run ok on my Radeon x300se 256mb, with my Athlong 64 3000+. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Half-Life2, Far Cry, Quake 4, FEAR, Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War + expansion pack, Rome: Total War + Expansion, Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, Age of Empires III, Sid Meier's Pirates!, SWAT 4 + Expansion, Doom 3 + expansion . . ..

All them games are "good" (Doom 3 would be pushing it, but as far as old-school run-and-gun gameplay goes, it's aight), but the one you need to get is bolded for your browsing convenience. ;)

half life 2 definitely worth checking
i'd recommend pirates!, it's fun, not too addicting (don't think civ4 right b4 law school's such a good idea), goes by quick and good replay value

I played Guild Wars last summer with about 5 friends and it was one of the best gaming experiences I've had. If you have some friends to play with check out Guild Wars Factions. I've heard its semi-stand alone. Bonuses for already having GW, but nothing serious.

Instead of playing games you need to prepare for your first day of class.

I hope you realize that it's not like undergrad where you go in the 1st day to pick up the syllabus. Your assignment will be posted a few weeks before class and you will be expected to hit the ground running.

If your professor uses the Socratic Method (which most do especially with 1Ls) after a brief salutation you may be asked to brief a case in front of a hundred strangers who are just as intelligent and smug as you. So unless you know every single detail about a case you better wear your Depends.

Put away your toys for a few years because your life is over.

;) j/k enjoy your summer...

-If you like turn based strategy then get Galactic Civilizations 2.
-If you like RTS then get Warhammer40k: DOW.
-If you like both then Rome: Total War is pretty good.
-If you like FPS then you are limited by your GFX card, but I like Riddick and FarCry, they may still be enjoyable for you on lower resolutions.
-For role-playing upgrade your rig and get Oblivion, J/K. Get a copy of Neverwinter Nights: Diamond, Morrowind: Game of the Year Edition, or KOTOR if you haven?t played those yet.

My $0.02.

Good luck in law school.

Oblivion, but you might not make it to law school if you don't have people checking on you from time to time.

Thanks for all the suggestions, some of which were highly amusing might I add... I'm looking forward to trying a few of the games
