it has three fans across the front of the 5.25 bay

Thanks Jay, you really are awesome! I found the same one for $5 (after posting this thread and an hour of looking)

I am looking to remove hot air from a case that has poor vetilation and not much room for cutting. (I already have a slot cooler) Any other suggestions?

There is only enough room between the PSU and the removeable hard drive caddy for a 40mm fan, it would be a very noisy, waste of time, and ineffective to do that.

Also I cannot move the caddy down, it must stay on the top 5.25 bay or it will hit the motherboard if I move it down. On the Next bay down from the top or the middle one is the CD-RW, and the last one the cd rom wont go in all the way and sticks half way out because it hits the motherboard.

If you find yourself needing slot coolers or 5.25 bay fans to cool your case, what you really need is a better case. A good layout beats modding a crappy one every time. I suspect a crossflow blower would be more efficient in a 5.25 bay, but I don't have any first hand experience to compare. The one I picked up a while ago from Bestbyte seems to work well enough, but it was a bit noisy for my application. It seems to have gone up in price from when I picked it up too.

Very true, but the case does not belong to me. My neighbor has asked me to solve his cooling problem. The CPU temperature has hit 120° F and ranges from 105°-121° F. Also note that I am in Florida and the ambient air temperature has been in the upper 80's this week. He does not air condition his home untill june or when spring is just about over. Untill then he rides out the warm spells with a fan and a 12 pack of beer. Then he heads home to Michigan to escape the coming torrid weather.

120F is pretty reasonable, assuming that's under load.

It does not show any signs of cooling off. We have under clocked it to make sure it stays at a reasonable temperature when no one is watching it. 142°F is the doccumented redline for his CPU. We would like to keep it under 110°. His computer sits in a room with that does not get very much AC (that he keeps off most of the time). Remember this is Florida and it is only going to get hotter in the next few months.
