I'm not going to get into any reason why my current USB DSL modem isn't good enough, but the fact is, I need an RJ/45 compatible
DSL modem, but nobody sells them, as far I can tell. Checked pricewatch, none there. The Bellsouth technician said look at Ebay
but I'm not going to do that! What should I do?

Exactly what kind of DSL modem do you need? I find it hard to believe that nobody is selling one ANYWHERE..

You need to find out what DSL modems are compatible with your provider and go from there. There are different protocols in use by different providers which is why you don't, or rarely, see them sold retail.

What do you mean by RJ45 compatible? Do you mean you need an external Ethernet one?

You will not find a vendor that sells External Ethernet DSL Modem. I have a suspicion that there is some agreement between DSL providers, and Modem's manufactures not to distribute Ethernet DSL Modems on the free market.

Your main hope is to log to an auction site, some people terminate DSL accounts and have a Modem to sell.

I'm about to get a DSL modem. My ISP wants $200. I'll be getting mine for about $75 from the place you don't like: eBay.
