I need a convertible

What do you want to know? 🙂

It has a very comfortable and precise ride. The convertible top is easy to control. The auto tranny is awesome and the new manuals just get better and better. It looks great. A large aftermarket. The v6 is 200 hp and the GT is 260.
 
Get yourself a Wrangler: underpowered, bad gas mileage, bad engineering, weak transmissions, but it's in your price bracket and actually with all that said, I will never not have one. :-D Yeah, I am not real bright........

They discontinued the Firebird? I'm looking for say a 2000 anyway, but I wouldn't how I'd feel about buying a discontinued car. They're pretty nice looking, though.

Millenium - tell ya the truth.... it's the convertible part that is really important. Do you have any places I could look around at to see mustang prices in my area (boston)

I don't even really know the first thing about cars or how to shop for them. All I know is I want a convertible... and maybe leather 😀
 
I want a convertible too.

My uncle has one of these beauties (Geocities link, you know the deal) that I'm hoping he will sell to me one day soon. It's an '88 Alfa Romeo Spider Quadrifoglio in black. It's got about 100,000 miles and it needs a little TLC, so I should be able to get it for very little $$.

Unless you live in a temperate climate, a convertible is really not a good idea.

I've owned a 94 Miata since new and it's been great, perfect for California. When I need more space, I've other vehicles available to drive.

Check out Consumer Reports before you buy a vehicle, so you can reference reliability records.

How about a Karmen Gia? I have no idea about their reliability, power or handling, but one of my friend's had one and it was pretty cool looking. It's been a while, but I think he said he'd bought it for around 3-4 grand, fixed it up, and sold it later for around 10k.

Anyways, you've never really experienced a road-trip until you've done it in a convertible. A trip from the Bay Area down to LA in a rented Mustang convertible convinced one of my friend's to buy a convertible. It's kinda funny. The guy drove around in a beat-up early-90's corolla for the past 10 years. Peeling paint everywhere... his bumper was tied on by rope at one point... But after driving a convertible last fall, he got on the waiting list and picked up a Benz CLK320 this past winter. 🙂

Oh yeah, and another one of my friend's just picked up a new M3 convertible. Man, am I feeling car envy... 🙂

you can find a '97 bimmer z3 for ~15k (4 banger version)
 
LOL, you silly guys. You want your convertables. Silly, silly kids.

Out here in AZ, we can use convertables IN THE WINTER. Other than that, we die from heat exhaustion.

Get a hardtop jeep where you can take it off if ya want. 2002 Jeeps = $15k loaded.

Edit: Mazda Miata maybe?? (hope youre not over 4'9'' then...)
