At least you have your priorities straight.

I'll second the used Civic or Corolla suggestion.

Don't forget to save a few hundred bucks for new intake and exhaust and a few bucks for a Type-R sticker. ;)

No, gas is a necessity. A $1000 stereo is luxery. My car has a radio, not even a tape deck :(

original post says no domestic no sportscars... so a domestic sportscar probably isnt what hes looking for...

RX7 is probably too sporty as well, insurance will be nuts.

Celica or 240sx might be nice, prelude?

Get a 95 camry (not maxima). If I could flash that much cash down on a vehicle I would get a Nissan 300 zx

I'd personally get a very slightly used hyundai elantra (2002 model).. or a 98+ civic..I just don't like corollas - felt way too underpowered and the interior sucked on the 2000 model that I learned how to drive in.. Perhaps the new redesigned one is better- but definately out of your price range.. Don't laugh but Geo Prizms are the same cars as the corrollas but are usually much cheaper..

get a '99-'00 civic ex coupe...nothing near a sports car, but its reliable as hell, looks hot (99-00 was when the civic looked the best imho)

also, get a stickshift so if you ever get the urge to rice it up you won't be as pathetic as people who rice up their autos (like me) :D
