My BE6-II bit the dust today.. not that big of a deal because I was never happy with it.. I think I got a defective mobo, it was only in use about 30 days.

I want a good OC board... but I am not ready to try another BE6-II just yet.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
Rich

Really? that sucks big time. Abit makes great BX motherboards. I have a BF6 and it's great. (i have a p3550e@733) I'd still have to say get an abit mobo, i'm sure they would RMA that BE6-II of yours. Otherwise, Soyo makes pretty solid motherboards.

MSI BX Master. It has 6 PCI, 1 ISA and an Integrated Promise ATA66 controller. Many great FSB Settings. It is also the AnandTech editors choice in the BX 133 roundup. All pci slots are bus mastering too. :)

I was just doing some reasearch on the MSI BX Master when I came back to check this thread, it sounds promising. :)

Imperium97... I am sure Abit will RMA the board for me.. but I am gonna wait about a month in hopes that they will send me the new revision. :)

compuwiz1:

Does Windows 2000 support MSI BX Master Promise ATA66? I have hard time using HotPoint 66 on my BE6 when Windows 2000 first came out.

Thanks.

I've had great luck with ABIT. Using a BE6 II now and P3 700. It runs stable at 966 mhz and good in 2D apps at 1008.

My next choice would be a Soyo.

Wooster, it does support Windows 2000, but you may have to get the drivers from promise, depending on when the Cd utilities for the mobo were burned.

You can even use W2k's default promise driver!.....I'm happy runnin my 700E at 933mhz 1.75vCore under Win2K A/server.
