Biggie,
I've seen that rifle in action in a pseudo gunfight.

It was a documentary on Military Tactics on the Discovery channel.

Ever seen what it does to the guy driving the tank??

i'm in the national guard...if wisconsin/indiana/michigan/iowa/missouri/canada ever decides to invade chicago, i'll be there with my platoon of guerillas. what's funny is that i only did 4 years of JROTC training in high school and i'm automatically a 2nd Lieutenant here. i haven't gotten around to signing up yet though.

Haha if you are gonna teach high school, bring a glock and baton too, lol. Not to mention pepper spray, lol. The glock is for the gang bangers, the baton is for those close combat situations with students with knives, and the pepper spray is clear up those all too frequent wrestling matches between students, lol.

Wow, you can buy batons from US CALVARY....NICE...lol.

The rifle looks hip,the handgun does not.Its the round, not the gun.A .50 cal desert eagle would be far more effective.

<< In all 50 states, it is agaist the law to own a Bullet Proof jacket unless you have a Weapons licence (Class 3). >>

So let me get this straight. You can only own a vest if you can own a gun? So essentially either you're defended and can fight back, or you're completely fscked. What type of fscked up system is this?

ICSVortex: All those restrictions do not apply to the vests. Notice that on the page for the vest, there is a little truck with the number "14" on it. This means shipping restriction number 14 from that list applies to it, not all restrictions on that list.

Pretnender, I believe the Class 3 License Monel is talking about is the Class 3 FFL(Federal Firearms License) which is pretty difficult to get, and entitles you to own fully automaic weapons, silencers etc. Your average gunowner still can not buy a vest.

I have owned Class IV vests in the past, which I sold to fund other hobbies. I don't know who told you guys that body armor is illegal, but unless it is in your locality, it is not. There are no federal laws regarding it, and 99% of the country has no laws regarding owning it.
Using body armor in the commission of a felony takes the crime up a notch though.

Here are some links for the lazy: A law banning the sale of armor to felons....

A law banning the sale of body armor through the mail......

Note the Frequently Asked Questions on this site that sells armor...........

So there you go, in black and white. There aren't any widespread laws (yet) in the US about using body armor.
Don't always believe what you hear.... do a little research.
That FN pistol is banned from importation because it uses armor piercing ammunition.

To specifically quote the FAQ:

<< A: NO! There is currently no law which restricts the civilian ownership of body armor. You may purchase and wear your body armor anywhere that you choose without fear of breaking any type of laws. However, in some countries outside of the United States body armor may not be imported or worn by civilians. >>

While I am not an authority on such matters, my guess is that wearing a vest becomes illegal only when combined with other crimes. As the site DarkRipper referenced states, there are generally no laws prohibiting civilians from possessing bulletproof vests.

Ah, DarkRipper, its not an FN pistol, after all the Gyurza /Vector SR-1 is from Russia not Belgium.

Also how do you define 'armour piercing ammunition' many rifles have ammo that will pierce armour better than pistols designed to use special AP ammo. For example one can buy bolt-action .50 rifles across the US that fire Browning .50 caliber machine gun rounds. If what you said is true then a very big percentage of rifles that fire bottle necked ammo (let alone .50 caliber stuff) would be banned.

My bad, I didn't go to the link. I assumed it was the FN pistol. (Egg on my face... :D )
And I was specifically referring to handgun ammunition, not rifle ammunition.
