ok, right now I just got 1GB value in there and It is preventing me from OC-ing more than 220mhz. So what is some really good ram you reccomend that has sick timings and OCs nice and stable?

I what the best brands are. but I just wanted to know what is the best OC-ing ram for the buck right now?'

Ok first off, you don't need 1:1. There's no 1:1 in A64s.
Spending an extra $100-150 isn't worth it the 3-5% gains, unless you're a competitive benchmarker.

With that said the OCZ memory you linked is revision 1. Not a particularly great overclocker, but it should get you to 215-220Mhz~ with the stock timings of 2-3-2-5. (May have to increase CAS depending on your board). Anything after that is up in the air. People have reached 250Mhz with relaxed timings. It doesn't respond well to added voltage. The Gskill will perform similiar (slightly better).

All my recent purchases of Corsair VS (2 x 512) were able to hit 236MHz. The 1GB Corsair VS module with UCCC chips should do 225MHz.

IMO for 157USD, the G.SKILL PC4000 kit is a better deal. Sure it's going to have looser timings but the perf you gain from the timings are negligible. And for 17 dollars more than G.SKILL's value mem, you don't have to go through the fuss of mem dividers.

yea Some reviews are saying this ram will not even hit 230, That makes me worry cause I am at 220 right now... So it must be rather loose on the timings...

IMO the G-Skill is the best deal 2.5-3-3-6 (auto) could change manually but no need.
237Mhz @2.6v not even pushing it.
24 hours stable on prime95

It's a shame that the GeIL ONE series isn't 2GB as it'd be perfect for heavy overclocking with good latencies.

GeIL ONE Series TCCD Version Hand-picked (TCCD) 32x8 DDR Chips PC3200 400MHz DDR SDRAM. Capable running at DDR400MHz CAS 1.5-2-2-5 and DDR 600MHz CAS 2.5-4-4-7

I'd go with the OCZ Gold series, guaranteed 250MHz isn't bad.

I really don't like the word "gamer" slapped on there though. Makes me think it just pretty good but it needed a "gamer" slapped on it to sell...

Newegg.com has that same memory but with printable $40 mail in rebates.

I recently purchased the new DFI RD580 board and I was about to ask which memory to get for to optimize my OCing (chilled liquid) on my Opty 170 and I think I'll go with the OCZ brand mentioned up above.

Not meaning to hijack your thread but I noticed there's two versions of the OCZ PC 4000. The OCZ5002048ELGEGXT-K that runs at 2.75V and for $2 more there's the OCZ5002048ELGE-K that runs at 2.8V. I'm assumming you'd want the 2.75V since it runs with lower power?

This is what I'm running. It's good, it's $160, and it's guaranteed to hit 250MHz. what more do you want? the OCZ which you linked to and which someone else linked to on NE I think also use the UCCC chips.

By the way, it's definitely not worth the upgrade just to be able to keep your 1:1 divider. Drop your mem divider and keep your current mem. Upgrade if you really need 2 GB.

OCZ and Corsair both have DDR500 2GB pairs that are like $150 at newegg right now. I have the Corsair ones, and i had to return them cause they only hit DDR490 and i'm picky lol, but in general i've heard both of them are fantastic brands. I've had good luck with corsair in the past, and i havent used OCZ but i hear they have gotten phenominally better in the last few years.

While running a memory divider won't hurt performance in real world apps too much, running 1:1 will definitely perform better. My 3dmark05 score also dropped by like 1000 when running a divider, although in real world it was much less apparent. The DDR500 modules aren't much more expensive than the DDR400 ones, the only disadvantage is that most of the UCCC DDR500 modules won't hit CAS 2, even at DDR400.

I got two sticks of the "red stuff" (PC3200 2 x 1GB) for ~$150 or so recently on NewEgg. Not too bad for the most part although it will not go above 230MHz. Can't complain, I just have to be a little picky with my dividers and timings.

Most of the time I go OCZ because their quality and support is so great.

I am pretty sure there is a 1:1 divider in a64's I don't were you thought there was no 1:1 on A64's cause Xtreme fourms shows it all over....

Gskill HZ PC4000 2gb supposedly overclocks the best. Up to around 290mhz in some benches. The ocz xtc hardly ocs at all. (Around 260mhz) Might be something to consider. The ocz xtc does have slightly lower timings though. I ran it at 250mhz at 3-4-3-7. Im not sure how the gskill does at 250mhz with timings.

It's not that rare anymore.

Not that rare, perhaps, with a 2x512 setup, but with the 2x1GB you're going to have lower clock speeds and/or higher latencies. There were two or three people on DFIstreet who got 300 with their G.Skill HZ, a few got around 280. 270 is a much more common peak to get, some only get 260-265. My memory for example only goes up to 250: what it's rated for. I'm happy with that though, since it will do 2.5-3-3-7 at up to 230. (I'm hoping for better results when I ditch this Asrock mobo.)

Bottom line I think this is the stuff to get, whether it's the GSkill, OCZ, or Corsair. If you're getting DDR4000 2GB pair for around $160, it's probably the Samsung UCCC. I'd go with the OCZ, all things equal.
